Punishment implies discipline or

repression, while a solution

implies finding causes and

offering guidance.

Instead of identifying the

potential causes of a problem,

and ways to ameliorate the

situation, educators tend to

take the quick and easy route

by establishing themselves as

agents of strict and severe

consequences.
