The four brothers planned to go

fishing the next day, and as usual,

they did not tell Maui about their

plans.

Overhearing their conversation,

Maui was determined to join them,

and hid in the bottom of their

canoe.

The next morning, his brothers

dragged the canoe down to the

water’s edge, in preparation for

their journey, laughing and joking

to one another, they were unaware

that Maui was concealed at the

bottom.
