The brothers paddled through the

white-water and out beyond the

breaking waves until they found a

good place to fish.

But Maui was unsatisfied with this

spot, so he sprang forth from his

hiding place and thoroughly

surprised everyone.

The brothers, reeling in shock from

Maui’s magical appearance beneath

them, obeyed his order, and

paddled on to the next spot.
