Persephone her wife, she was enraged
and stopped growing harvests for
the world. When Zeus ordered
Hermes to go into the underworld
and retrieve Persephone, she had
already eaten six pomegranate seeds
in the Underworld and was thus
eternally tied to the underworld. She
could only leave the Underworld
when the earth was blooming, or
every season except the winter. Thus
became the reason of how the world
had 4 seasons.
