Siddhartha was brought up by his
mother’s younger sister after he
died. Being destined by birth to a
life of a prince had three palaces
built for him. These palaces were
rotated for seasonal occupation. The
King wanted to make Siddhartha a
great king, and shielded him from
all religious teachings and from
the knowledge of human suffering.
When Siddhartha reached the age of
16, the king arranged his marriage
to Siddhartha’s cousin. According
to historical context, she gave birth
