Page 7 - BP3Z 005 Why are the Himalayas getting higher every year
P. 7
Most of the mountain ranges in
the Himalayas lie in a land of
perpetual snow. Every year the
weather produces a fresh
snowfall. The snow never melts,
but rather each successive year
creates a thicker layer of snow.
The perpetual snow, however,
does not lead to perpetual
mountain growth. The snow
only creates temporary
variations because mountains
are not flat.
