The period of 1929-1939 is filled with
horrific stories that few people care to
remember.
The depression was not confined to
North America, but rather impacted the
entire world in varying degrees.
Human despair was at its highest.
Families were both starving and poorly
clothed. The depression was the
genesis of subsidy programs or
financial aid.
These social services, however, never
approached the level of real wages and
rarely provided the bare necessities
required for survival.
