The impending depression became
apparent when the crisis hit Wall Street
on October 29, 1929, commonly called
Black Tuesday.
Companies began asking investors to
pay back the money they had
borrowed and, failing to have it,
investors began selling their stocks to
raise it.
This, in turn, drove the price of stocks
down until it plummeted.
As stocks crumbled, the financial crisis
grew in momentum.
