of Plato’s dialogues
During the 1st century, a Jewish
philosopher Philo wrote about the
destruction of Atlantis in one of
his books and claims that there is
a possibility that the Clement of
Rome cryptically refers to Atlantis
in his First Epistle of Clement as it
says “The ocean which is impassable
for men, and the worlds beyond it,
are directed by the same ordinances
of the Master”. Philo tries to
use this to prove his point that
Atlantis is an actually existing city.
