               Rigger’s bend

A neat method of joining two lines, the rigger’s

bend is really a variation on the theme of the alpine
butterfly bend and the zeppelin bend. Although it’s

more prone to jamming than either of them, it’s also
               marginally more secure.

1 Put an overhand loop in the end of one line (on the left here), and an

underhand loop in the end of the other line, and interlock them as shown.
