               Double diamond knot




               Doubling  the  diamond  knot  transforms  it  from


               something merely useful into a far more decorative
               knot. Don’t be fooled, however; the double diamond


               still has an important practical application and was
               once  recommended  by  the  British  Admiralty  to

               provide additional grip on bucket ropes.
























                 1  Seize the line a distance 12 times its diameter from the end and tease


                  the strands apart. If using traditional rope (as shown), the strands will

                                           need to be stopped with twine.
