Double diamond knot
Doubling the diamond knot transforms it from
something merely useful into a far more decorative
knot. Don’t be fooled, however; the double diamond
still has an important practical application and was
once recommended by the British Admiralty to
provide additional grip on bucket ropes.
1 Seize the line a distance 12 times its diameter from the end and tease
the strands apart. If using traditional rope (as shown), the strands will
need to be stopped with twine.
