Star knot
Most of the decorative knots so far have had a
similar recognisable pattern, one building on the
next. The star knot does its own thing, however, and
apart from the appearance of a crown halfway
through, doesn’t bear much relation to any of the
others. Use it as part of a decorative lanyard or, by
tucking the ends down one more time, turn it into a
button or toggle.
1 Prepare the line or seized lines as before (Step 1). Put an underhand
loop in each strand, and tuck the end through the loop immediately to its
right.
