Harness loop in the bight
The harness loop used to be the knot of choice for
tying a loop in the bight, though it has recently been
superseded by the butterfly loop. It's still very
effective for making a ladder and possibly hanging
up the Christmas lights…
1 Put a bight in the line and twist the standing part to make a loop.
