4   Instead of putting in a hitch at the end, make an underhand loop in the


                 standing part to start the bowline. Feed the working end down through

                                                         the loop.































                5    Pass the working end around the standing part and back into the loop



                 to complete the bowline. Adjust the bowline so that both ‘arms’ are the

                                     same length, and then tighten the knot.
