Fisherman’s bend

Another hitch with a misleading name, the

fisherman’s bend is really an improvement on the
round turn and two half hitches. Because the first

half hitch is locked in the turn, it’s less liable to slip.
Use it when you need an extra secure hitch, and

seize the end to the standing part for additional

peace of mind.

1 Take the working end around the post or ring twice to make a complete

round turn.
