               Filipino lashing

This is used as an alternative to the diagonal

lashing, and differs mainly in its starting and
finishing points. Because it is tied in the bight, its

starting point is absolutely secure and the final knot
can be tied with two ends. Ultimately, the choice

probably depends on whether you prefer the reef

               knot or the clove hitch.

1 Put a bight in the middle of the line and pass it around the two poles.

Pass the ends through the bight to make a girth hitch.
