Round turn and two half hitches
As well as being simple and versatile, this is also
one of the oldest knots in existence! It is a
dependable old workhorse that can be put to good
use on land and at sea – and probably in the air too.
1 Take the working end of the rope and wrap it twice around a fixed
object – in this case a horizontal pole.
