Reeving line bend
The reeving line bend is a long, streamlined knot
that will slip through fairleads easily. By adding a
couple of seizings around the ends it also has the
necessary security, resulting in a very useful knot
that is almost certainly stronger than its more
complicated counterparts.
1 Overlap the ends by about 18–24in (50–60cm). Place one end over, and
one end under, each other’s standing part.
