PRESIDENT’S DESK

Dear Members,

We are going through very difficult times as the world
fights the Covid 19 pandemic. Our life is not the same
any more and probably will never be. Very soon, people’s
business and personal lives will see a change day to day.
STAY HOME .......we will hug each other latter !

I used to plan long term activities, used to be unhappy with
my yard and house - as it is too small and I would like a
bigger one, unhappy with my car – maybe a new and bigger
one insted of the old one......stupid human ambitions. Now
I am just making plans on a short term and my only dream
is to have another beer with you all in Aruba.
Our activity is close to zero and probably many of us will cross a hard time...at this moment we need to be optimistic, get
in contact with each other – we have many internet tools to make our life easier at home. The WAD Executive Committee
had zoom meetings every two weeks and among the discussion, supporting our 1st VP on preparing WAD webinar series.
I take this opportunety to congratulate the first speakers Sandra Stibbards and Thomas Mathiesen, Michael ‘Ski’ Jaczewski
and Juan C. Giraldo.

I was invited by Oscar Rosa to officiate the DETCON 2020, 2nd Edition – webinar organised by Colleage of Detecives from
Spain – President Mercedes Ferran. In my welcoming address to the participants, I underline the importance of being a
member of WAD.

I officiated our WAD webinar series on April 15, 17:00 GMT when our good friend Sandra Stibbards - Owner/President of
Camelot Investigations, delivered a great presentation : “Let’s Get Virtual - Privacy and Staying Secure is Key”.If you have
any suggestions of topics of interests that you would like to share with members by zoom meetings, please let us know.
I encourage all members and especially Board members to share their ideas and thoughtson how we should cross this
period in a better way ...what are your webinar topics you would like to have on line.
I will also encourage members to give a helping hand to our colleagues who are going through difficult times including
preaparing for possible insolvency. We have no idea how long this pandemic will last so we need to be prepared for the
worst scenario.

Greetings to members who initiated IPA – WAD discussions : Markku Savolainen from Finland, Alberto Biancofiore from
Italy, Jean Schmitt from France, Zenon Zalewschi from Poland. We had an proposal in Decemeber from the IEB of IPA
looking for a WAD/IPA member to represent this associations at Organization of American States in Washington – USA.
I forward this request to all members and they should have applied to External Relation Commission – Einar Jonsson.
We’ll be together soon in Aruba and remember we shall have a great 2021 year with great destinations : Montreal and
Prague.
