Jeremy Hitzig, Starfish Specialty Programs
Jeremy formed Starfish Specialty Programs in 2021. The company focuses
on specialty property & casualty programs underwritten by leading insurance
companies. He began his insurance career in 1995 as a principal at Capital Risk
Strategies where he focused on emerging risk transfer tools including catastrophe
bonds and other blended capital markets/insurance products. In 1997 he joined
Distinguished LLC and held several executive positions before being named Chief
Executive Officer in 2006, serving in that role until the end of 2018. Jeremy is a
graduate of McGill University and received his MBA from Columbia Business School
in New York. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Property
and Casualty Underwriter designations. He is a past-President and current board
member of Target Markets.
Andrew Cochran, Waller Helms Advisors
Andrew advises clients across the insurance sector but spends most of his time
working with retail and wholesale insurance brokers and MGAs/program managers.
His most recent activity includes the sale of Tokio Marine Highlands U.S. Construction
business to Intact Insurance Group, Team Focus Insurance Group’s sale to PEAK6
Investments and International Transport & Marine Agency’s sale to MS Amlin.
Prior to joining Waller Helms Advisors, Andrew was a member of the Financial
Sponsors & Leveraged Finance Group at Macquarie Capital in New York. While at
Macquarie, Andrew executed leveraged acquisitions and recapitalizations for financial
sponsor clients across a variety of industries, including insurance distribution and
services. He began his investment banking career at Fox-Pitt Kelton, where he
focused on the insurance sector. Andrew graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor
of Arts in Economics from St. Lawrence University.
