Kevin Donoghue, Mystic Capital
Kevin has spent over 30 years in various merger, acquisition, and financial consulting
roles. Prior to co-founding Mystic Capital, Kevin’s background included starting and
developing BMG Capital Advisors Group, LLC (a subsidiary of The Hartford Financial
Services Group, Inc.), and four years with KPMG Peat Marwick. He has an MBA from
Boston College and a B.S. in Accountancy from Bentley College. Kevin has earned the
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a Certified Public Accountant
(CPA) and a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). He is a member of the New York
Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA), CFA Institute, American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants (AICPA), Society of Certified Insurance Counselors, and National
Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO). Kevin is a registered representative of Mystic
Capital Markets Group, LLC as a General Securities Principal (Series 24), Corporate
Securities Limited Representative (Series 62), General Securities Representative
(Series 63), and a Limited Representative – Investment Banking (Series 79).
John Kraska, Dowling Hales
John joined Hales & Company in 2001 and later led the management buyout of the
firm from Arch Capital Group, Ltd. As a Managing Partner of the firm, he oversaw
the firm’s growth both internally and through acquisition, culminating in a sale to a
private investor group and the formation of Dowling Hales, an affiliate of Dowling &
Partners, in 2011. John has nearly 30 years’ experience as an investor and advisor
in the insurance industry, completing over 300 transactions throughout his career.
He began his career as an actuary at Aetna and Equitable Cos (now AXA). He is a
Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and The Wharton School
with degrees in Mathematics and Economics.
Gerard Vecchio, MarshBerry
Gerard Vecchio is Managing Director and Specialty Practice Co-Head at MarshBerry.
He joined MarshBerry in 2017 and works specifically with the Insurance Services
Division. Gerard’s responsibilities include providing strategic and operational
consulting services to specialty insurance distributors, insurance carriers and
outsourced service providers within the insurance industry. Gerard has nearly 30
years of experience within the insurance industry where he has gained knowledge
related to being a private equity investor in, board member of, and advisor to
insurance distributors, underwriters and service and technology providers. Through
his career, Gerard has worked as a Director with approximately a dozen insurance
companies, financial services, health care service firms, including two publicly-traded
entities and was formally a State Board Member of the Connecticut Venture Group.
Gerard maintains Series 62, 79, and 63 FINRA Registrations through MarshBerry
Capital, LLC, the affiliated FINRA-registered Broker/Dealer of Marsh, Berry & Co., LLC. Gerard graduated with honor from
Middlebury College with a Bachelor of Arts and graduated from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, with a
Master of Business Administration.
