PCNA-like pattern (AC-13)
HEp-2 cells. Half of the cell nuclei of all interphase cells
exhibit a bright, fi ne speckled basic fluorescence with the
nucleoli being unaffected. The same fl uorescence pattern is
found with the other half, but the intensity is lower by a factor
of 10. The area of the condensed chromosomes is not stained
in the mitosis; the surrounding area of the chromosomes
shows only a weak, fine speckled fl uorescence, corresponding
to the darker nuclei of the interphase cells in pattern and
intensity.
Primate liver is largely negative.
