Follow up Discussion about

                      Policy Regarding Staff Serving on Boards




               At the March meeting, the board discussed a Policy Regarding Staff Serving on Boards and
               Fundraising.  The following two concerns were raised with regard to the proposed policy:


                   1. There may be an HR problem with requiring staff to notify CFNF when serving on a
                       board of their church or religious institution.  Staff, Skip and Martin were asked to follow
                       up regarding this question.  After consultation, staff and Martin suggest eliminating the
                       “notice” requirement altogether avoiding any possible HR concerns.  The policy has been
                       revised so that staff may serve on and fundraise for their religious institution with no
                       permission or notice requirement.

                   2. With regard to fundraising, we should allow a de minimis amount of up to $1,000.  The
                       board approved this amendment at the March meeting. Staff revised the policy to include
                       this exception.
