A little corner of the town that
is worth a visit is the swimming
pool area south of the Mallee
Highway. The pool is nicely
maintained and solar heated.
Around the corner from the pool
is the once convent building
where the sisters of Mercy
Church Street is mainly lived who taught at the Catholic
residential street with the school behind. The Catholic
Uniting Church (formerly school commenced in 1963 and
Presbyterian) at its northern closed in 1982. The building
end. The Methodist church now is a Community Centre
was once on the empty block which houses the pre-school,
as you enter from the Mallee play group, family day care, the
Highway. The once Masonic Senior Citizens and the seniors’
Lodge opposite the Uniting day activity centre etc.
Church was brought to
Manangatang from Nine Mile
(near Sea Lake) in the 1950s.
