Malcolm chaired the meeting.
1. December 2021 meeting minutes
The minutes of the Committee’s December 2021 meeting had been circulated and were approved.
2. Business arising from the minutes
There was no business arising that was not either on the Agenda or addressed in the Program Notes.
3. Update on programs
The report from Pathways to Education Canada was impressive, though it was difficult to ascertain the impact in Winnipeg and Saskatoon either because of COVID-19 or the short time the program has been in those locations. The Palm Beach Atlantic University report showed lower numbers than in the past, which also could be an effect of the pandemic. The UPS scholarship graduate survey produced by Scholarship America continues to reflect a low response rate. The number of respondents, 17, was the same as the previous year. While most schools have trouble tracking alumni, it was suggested that seniors should be notified that participation in the survey is expected as part of their scholarship renewal. Scholarship America provides a separate, more detailed report on current UPS scholars. Staff will make that report available to Directors so that a determination can be made whether to provide additional instructions to Scholarship America.
