Program Goals – Year 2:
Goal #1: Establish and maintain strategic alliances with 3 Native American student organizations:
Unity, Native Forward Scholarship Fund (formerly American Indian Graduate Center), and American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES).
This year AIBL maintained strong alliances with Unity, AISES and Native Forward. We were able to support both organizations by promoting their national events and participating in the AISES Golf Event held in the fall in Las Vegas. We have discussed plans to attend Unity this summer (July 2023) to do a workshop on financial literacy at their national conference. We would like to attend the AISES event to do a similar workshop. Additionally, we have kept the relationship with Native Forward in good standing. We established a scholarship fund that is managed by Native Forward and communicate with the executive team regularly.
In addition to the 3 partners listed above, we also have created a positive relationship with NCAIED, the non-profit that hosts the RES Conference. In June of 2023, they will again host our National Leadership Conference in conjunction with the RES Conference. We believe this will continue to elevate AIBL’s position and introduce us to potential partners we would not have had access to previously. Additionally, this year we will have an AIBL Golf Tournament and NCAIED has agreed to help advertise our event to their 3,000+ participants who attend the RES Conference.
