JOHNSON SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION ENTREPRENEURSHIP SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM POLICY STATEMENT
The college/university will administer the Entrepreneurship Scholarship Program in accordance with the following policies and without administrative charges to the JSF Scholarship Grant.
1. JSF Scholarship Awards will be made only to students enrolled in programs of study (certificate, degree or entrepreneurship credential) authorized by the Johnson Scholarship Foundation as being appropriate for students pursuing entrepreneurial or business related careers.
2. Student recipients of JSF Entrepreneurship Scholarship Awards must:
a. Be Native Americans which includes American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian peoples from both federal and state recognized tribes, and Indigenous Peoples from First Nations in Canada;
b. Be a full or part-time student enrolled in an authorized certificate or degree in entrepreneurship or business related program of study;
c. Demonstrate financial need;
d. Be selected in accordance with the college/university’s normal criteria based financial aid;
e. Meet and maintain the Institution Satisfactory Academic Policy as consistent with the Federal Satisfactory Academic Policy for financial aid, including cumulative GPA of 2.0, complete 67% of credits attempted and complete degree or certificate within 150% of credits required for degree;
f. Not be an employee of the college/university, except for student employees receiving a work assignment as part of “need-based” financial aid.
3. Academic merit may be used in accordance with criteria set by the college/university in order to select among students who satisfy the criteria enumerated in Paragraph 2 above.
4. Individual JSF Scholarship Awards may be up to $4,000 per year for a full-time student maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0.
5. A maximum per semester JSF Scholarship Award for a full-time student maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 may be up to $2,000.
6. Such Awards will be pro-rated for part-time students based upon the percent of full-time credit load at that college/university for federal financial aid purposes with a maximum of $2,000 per year or $1,000 per semester.
7. Individual JSF Scholarship Awards may be up to $6,000 per year for a full-time student maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
8. A maximum per semester JSF Scholarship Award for a full-time student maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 may be up to $3,000.
