serving non-native English speaking users. T2M is written in grade-school to high- school level English, so it may be used by less-than-fluent users supported by their coach.
• Activity 4: Maintain and expand outreach to CSPs and families in and beyond California.
• Progress: FHR conducts outreach to audiologists, counties, SLPs, hearing centers and
others serving young children who are D/HH, promoting all lines of service to families of children under the age of three (T2M, BabyTalk and WCC) and older (WCC and TeachLSLTM). We expect to develop and seek funding for a go-to-market plan for T2M that more intensively targets counties.
• Activity 5: Continue and expand cooperation with strategically aligned organizations.
• Progress: We have held discussions with AG Bell and WestEd, which are interested,
supportive, and potential allies when we are ready to go to market. We are contemplating potential cooperative strategies with other organizations such as Khan Academy and Coursera that share common methodologies or delivery mechanisms.
Outcomes/Measurement:
• Post-FY2024, at a point where T2M serves 1,000 of the 28,000 families in the US with children ages 0-3 who are D/HH, charging counties or state agencies $300 per family per year, T2M program revenues will exceed program costs. Success will be when BT/T2M becomes sustainable, with BT program size depending on grant support and T2M surplus.
• Progress: As we head into this post-FY2024 period, these remain program objectives. We are seeking user and coach data to optimize the user experience and support. At this point, we are confident that the content and structure of the lessons are effective and appealing. We believe that the delivery mechanism can be improved and better user interface can enhance user engagement. We are developing best practices for support and planning to make them scalable by streamlining protocols and using Salesforce.com to efficiently track and support users and coaches as the program grows.
