TAKE STOCK/JOHNSON SCHOLARS REPORT (3)
YEAR IN REVIEW
The Take Stock in Children/Johnson Scholars Program (TSICJS) saw growth in fiscal year 2024 (FY24), offering numerous college and career readiness opportunities to Palm Beach County School District students. Activities offered to our scholars included college tours, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) trips, and exploration of Palm Beach State College Certification Programs. Students benefited from workshops on life management skills, the summer internship application process, and understanding the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Mentoring and personalized college readiness support continued to be a focus. TSICJS supported seniors through the college application process, culminating in our inaugural Decision Day Celebration, where scholars celebrated their accomplishments with mentors and families. Our efforts resulted in a significant increase in freshmen recruits this school year.
2024 POST SECONDARY SELECTIONS
The pie chart illustrates the post-secondary decisions of our 100 Take Stock in Children Johnson Scholar Seniors: 44.6% are attending Palm Beach State College, 16.3% are attending Florida Atlantic University, 26.1% are attending other state universities, and 13% are attending various other institutions, including out of state, private or military.
