As an example, Forest Hill High School's Scholar Community orchestrated a first-generation luncheon, inviting all students to participate. This event served as a platform to offer insights into the unique journey of being a first-generation college scholar. The students also facilitated a presentation on the benefits of Dual Enrollment and Early Admit, where high school students take college level courses. Through discussions, shared experiences, and mentorship, students gained valuable perspectives and encouragement as they embarked on their paths toward higher education.
Forest Hill High School First Generation Luncheon
In addition to the First-Generation school activity, each Scholar Community undertook a school service project aimed at both establishing a visible presence within the school community and fostering leadership through the student ambassador program. These projects were led and organized by students themselves, providing them with valuable opportunities to take ownership and make a positive impact within their school environment.
