As part of your monitoring activities include plans for an evaluation of the entire
process. This evaluation is different from the one students will do for their
respective group scores. For example, you can give students a short
questionnaire to answer questions about their experiences collaborating or you
can use the Plus-Minus-Interesting (PMI) method. Conducting evaluation will
help you to improve on weak areas and develop new strategies to make formal
learning groups effective.
Your Activity: Create, Share, Explore
Develop your personal strategy on how you can create and
implement formal learning groups. As you design your
strategy, think of new ways that can make collaborative
learning effective within groups.
Develop an outline for a workshop to introduce students to
collaborative learning in formal learning groups.
Share your ideas with a colleague and let them critique your
work
