Communication
4.10.4 En-route procedures
Now we have exited the Roskilde control zone. If the flight should be performed
at a higher altitude than 1500 ft, we would need clearance to climb into the
Roskilde TMA. However, that is not necessary for this flight.
We need to stay informed to get traffic information and alerting service, we
contact Copenhagen Information.
Copenhagen Information has an east and a west frequency. Often, the same
person is operating both frequencies.
On the ICAO chart, you can see the division between the east and west
frequencies. When you fly, you switch frequencies when crossing from one
area to another.
Make a radio check after changing the frequencies if necessary.
When we fly over water, we want assistance as quickly as possible if something
goes wrong and we have to make an emergency landing in the water.
Copenhagen information service in Jutland is assigned to the local Approach
service units. There is a division into Local Traffic Areas (LTAs)
Here it is these Approach units in the relevant LTA that provide air traffic
control service as well as flight information service and alerting service for us.
Remember that even if you are flying in an LTA, you must request to enter the
part of the LTA that consists of the control zone and TMA (terminal area).
4.10.4.1 Position reports
The communication en-route outside controlled airspace is mostly position
reports from our side.
