Principles of flight

The further back the center of gravity is, the flatter the spin and the harder it is

to stop the rotation, because righting is done with rudders, and the greater the

distance from rudder to center of gravity, the greater the power of the rudder.

And the stability of the aircraft is also better the further forward the center of

               gravity is placed.

               5.4.4 Flaps, slots and slats

Flaps, slots and slats are different types of lift-increasing devices.

               5.4.4.1 Flaps

Flaps are typically mounted on the wing trailing edge at the rear of the wing

between the body and ailerons. They are movable surfaces that can be moved

downwards at a certain angle, and in some cases (primarily on gliders) also

               upwards.

               Flaps are used during take-off

(short runway take-off) and on soft

               runways where less ground friction

               is desired.

               o when landing aircraft.

When landing, you can get a steeper descent at a lower speed.

Landing roll is reduced by using a lower approach speed.

Using flaps provides more lift and enables flying at a lower speed.

With flaps out, the wing stalls at a lower angle of attack!
