     Navigation
9.9.2.4 Navigation by beacon - homing and tracking
You can fly to a radio beacon in 2 ways:
                   - Homing
                   - Tracking
                Homing
Homing means that you hold the ADF
pointer so that it, from the pilot's point of
                view, points straight up.
This means that the nose of the aircraft
points towards the beacon throughout the
flight, as you can see from the illustration
                here.
                See it here
                Tracking
                If you fly tracking, you
                compensate for crosswinds -
here you do not take into
                account how the pointer
                points; instead, you keep your
                course.
If you are skilled, you can fly a
                straight line to the beacon.
