     Navigation
By measuring the phase shift or phase difference between these signals, the
receiver in the aircraft finds out which radial the aircraft is on.
The image here shows a section
                from the ICAO aeronautical chart
                with Codan Vor at Møn.
As you can see, the radials are
                oriented relative to magnetic
                north. The north radial is
                therefore radial 0, the south
                radial is radial 180.
In the box below you will see the identifications for Codan Vor, including the
frequency 114.900 (MHz), which you set on the Nav radio. n (as you see below).
The dashes and dots at the bottom right are Morse code for the letters C, D and
A, and the first thing you do after setting the frequency is to listen to these Morse
codes and then make sure that it is the right radio beacon that you have set.
9.9.3.2 The aircraft part - Nav radio and indicator
The aircraft has a Nav radio, as well as an indicator instrument. The Nav radio
can be integrated with the aircraft's Com radio. However, there is an antenna for
                each part.
Here you see such an integrated
radio part. The Nav part on the
right, the Com part on the left.
