My Input into a Child’s Future

I started volunteering two years ago when I was working in the
KFC restaurant “Raduga” in the town of Kemerovo. Together with
my peers we took under our patronage one of our city orphan-
ages then. About once a fortnight we visited the kids, elaborated
the games for them on our own, invented some entertainments
with prizes and made memorable pictures, and also regularly in-
vited them to visit us with excursions, telling them with pride and
delight about how the restaurant operated.
When I got transferred to another restaurant, enrollment to
the charity project “Generation Choice” got started. And I will-
ingly joined. There is no monetary benefit in volunteering. I am
just getting huge satisfaction and delight from communicating
with kids and understanding that I can share my knowledge and
skills with them.
Our team of volunteers has been helping the kids from or-
phanages to get them prepared for adult life. Thanks to us they
learn about the variety of professions and that the desired results
can be really achieved, the most important thing is to trust in
oneself and one’s strengths.
Due to our meetings the kids start feeling more confident, and
after the training is over, I can see the smiles on the kids’ faces
and listen to their dreams and plans full of hopes. This is why
I have been volunteering.
