It is vital for me to be useful to someone. I do not see any
sense in living without that. And while providing aid to the or-
phans from the “Children’s Village SOS Tomilino” or to the wards
of the Support Center for the people with Down syndrome
“Down Side Up” I feel that I have spent this very day not in vain.
Since I am an orphan myself and at the age of 15, I got transferred
to an orphanage, I know what it means to live without parents,
and that is why it is very easy for me to find a common language
with the guys from this group, which is so socially insecure.
With my team of volunteers, we have held career guidance
activities in the KFC restaurants for the orphans, helping them
to master the profession of a cook. In the course of these classes
we prepare the guys for independent living, teach them how to
communicate with the outside world and the society. We teach
them not to be afraid of any obstacles and always achieve their
goals. We have also held some outdoor activities and contests,
helped with the money to provide the guys with some stuff they
really needed. For the students of the “Down Side Up” these are
certainly active creative classes during which we are communi-
cating with them, sharing a part of ourselves and also provide
              some monetary assistance.
In my opinion, it is very important to pay special attention to
orphans, to get them prepared for independent living, since it is
very important to have a guideline, which you can follow after
              graduating an orphanage.
