ASCAP Executive
Cristina has more than 10 years of experience in music
and entertainment. Prior to ASCAP, she worked at
Viacom overseeing all aspects of the Music Matters
campaign at BET, booking, programming and curating
talent for major events including; A3C, SXSW, monthly
showcases, internal packages/commercials, and internal
TV shows.
Cristina also managed Music Matters tours for artist such
as J Cole, Tyga, Mindless Behavior, Marsha Ambrosia,
K. Michelle and Kendrick Lamar. During that time, she
handled a Music Matters album compilation with Sony
and producer Salaam Remi, and helped program, curate
and manage the Music Matters stage for the first BET
Experience in 2013.
Miss Chavez started her career as an intern in 2006 at a
local and renowned San Francisco radio station (106
KMEL) working for the street team. In 2007 she landed
an internship at BET, PR department. The following year
Cristina worked closely with the then SVP of Music,
Programming and Specials, Stephen Hill and his assistant.
Throughout her college career she would work for the
company’s major tent-poles and shows i.e. Spring Bling,
Celebration of Gospel, Crank that Vote,106 & Park and
more. After graduating she went on to become the interim
assistant to Stephen Hill for nearly a year. She then went

musical talent and helping to build creative careers. As on to coordinating for the Talent Department then on to
the Associate Director, Rhythm & Soul department at manage her precious gem Music Matter.
ASCAP she brings new songwriters, producers and artist
to the organization by cultivating new and existing music
industry relationships. She also produces and books all ASCAP
of the LA events such as; ASCAP's On the Come up 7920 West Sunset Blvd, Third Floor
showcase in LA, SXSW ASCAP stage, as well as
educational panels, songwriting camps, ASCAP Expo, Los Angeles, CA 90046
co-branded ASCAP events and ASCAP Urban award
shows.
