Jail is REAL
It is so crazy how teens do not fully understand that jail is
REAL. I really do believe that if teens had a full understanding of
the inside of jail, there would not be such a high percentage of
teens committing crimes.
Teens often commit crime due to being in a group, rebelling
against parents or trying to be cool. Either way, committing a
crime is wrong. Jail is no place for anyone especially for a teen.
I have known two young men that have experienced going to jail.
One served a year in jail and the other six weeks in jail. Both
were with other teens and young men that committed crimes. It’s
not just important to not commit a crime, it is also important to not
be around those who are committing a crime. It doesn’t matter if
you are innocent and not the one committing the crime, the legal
system will consider your involvement to be guilty by association.
It is only through prayer that both of the young men that I know that experienced going to jail are out
of jail (with no plans or reason to go back to jail) and living a changed life with different friends that
have good morals and good values.
Jail is REAL. That’s why it so important as teens to stay out of trouble and always know your circle
of friends. Because some one is asking you to do wrong don’t mean you need to do wrong. Think
for yourself and think about your family and how going to jail can affect your whole entire family. If
you need to, change your life. It’s never too late to change and live a life that is pleasing in the sight
of God.
As you go into 2018, Be safe. Be positive. Be productive and most importantly stay FREE because
jail is REAL. ■
