ARE YOU A GOOD LISTENER?

Teens always have something to say no matter who
they are talking to and no matter what the subject may
be teens want to be heard. Being heard is important and
don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise, but learning

how to be a good listener is important as well.

Sometimes talking too much can cause you to miss
good information and miss good instructions. Learning
to listen as a teen helps you as you mature into an adult.

As you go off to college, get your first job or start your
own business, being receptive to listening will help
you be successful and it will help you be more of an
informative, well-rounded person.

Being a good listener will help you at home as well. Your parents may not always be
right, but talking while your parents are talking (that’s disrespectful) is definitely not

right. It is important to learn how to listen to your parents. This is a sign of maturity
and respect.

Don’t allow your friends to tell you that listening is not necessary. You have to learn
how to be a good listener so you can excel in life. No matter what you are doing or
who you are interacting with, having the ability to listen will always be necessary.
