Trading Update Private label We started 2019 with a level of uncertainty due to Brexit looming and no further clarity of a deal with the European Union. However we continue to work at pace on the NPD & EPD we are due to land in 2019 with our current customers. In terms of NPD we await to see the Brexit outcomes before pushing into areas of interest which we wish to focus on this year. Regardless of the uncertainty in the market, we have still secured some very successful business wins with our current customer base. As a team we are busy managing various Brexit scenarios with our customer and suppliers and looking to find resolutions for any potential issues which may arise in the event of a No Deal situation. Highlights • We have secured 100% supply of Aldi Everyday Essentials Rice Pudding & increased our share of supply on Delicious Desserts Rice Pudding from 50% to 85%. This gain will increase our volume by 400,000 cans and our turnover by £1.4m. • We have also secured a new listing with Aldi in Ireland for Evaporated milk. Areas of Focus • Management of Brexit outcomes as and when decisions are made with our customers and suppliers is key for our team over coming months. • Asda Jelly block launch for Jun 2019 • Aldi existing product improvements and rebranding of their core design • Tesco Sourcing reset, negotiating currently to ensure we retain our current level of business with Tesco. • Establish relationship with the new buyer for our products in Sainsbury’s and seeking potential new opportunities. • Continue to focus on all avenues for new business wins: Asda cake batters, Morrison’s milks & desserts. Grocery & Confectionery Update Ricola Ricola have announced their new global brand ambition and campaign “Wish you well”, with the ambition of changing brand perception from ‘just a herbal drop from Switzerland’ to ‘a brand known and loved for cultivating 3
