AREAS
In the Ip Man Wing Chun system the body is divi-
ded in different gates, zones, areas. Understanding
these principles makes it possible to apply diffe-
rent attacks and defenses.
The vertical straight Wing Chun punch, the stan-
ces, the stepping, the chain punching are also to
be considered as essential elements of the Wing
Chun system.
This short introduction is not complete but only
to give you an idea why Ip Man Wing Chun is a
system and not just a Martial Art.
WING CHUN TODAY
Wing Chun has become one of the most popular
Martial Arts in the world. It is our obligation to
preserve the heritage of GM Ip Man. A system
can only exist if the principles of the system are
applied. As in any system if you do not know all
the principles the system will fail or have flaws.
The proof is in the eating of the pudding, it either
works or it doesn’t it is as simple as that. Wing
Chun is an easy to learn system for self-defense,
a combat art that can be used by anybody old or
young, woman or man.
