IRMA STAT (CONT’D): Our eyes are set on the future. But listen to me carefully, we don’t have much time. Computer, pull up the simulation file.
COMPUTER: Accessing simulation 2-1-0-0-X3. Nominal trends.
Electronic noises. We are surrounded by video feed spanning across each monitor: Rain drizzles from the sky before a downpour hits the ground. A time lapse shows a river forming, trees growing on its banks, fishing swimming and jumping in the water, animals drinking from the stream. Signs of flourishing life.
IRMA STAT: This is a simulation of the year 2100 if we succeed in our mission. You do not want to see the version where we don’t succeed. Believe me when I say, it’s more than bleak. Computer, zoom out.
The images on the monitors zoom further out. They pass through a layer of mist as they break into space. The skies are clear and the continents lush. A space station passes by.
IRMA STAT: Bold action needs to be taken, and Trane Technologies is taking it. But we can not do it alone. We all have choices to make to create the future we want. That is why you are here today.
She turns to the side and presses a few buttons. The monitors around the room light up with blurry feeds of the scenarios we will soon experience. She gestures around the room.
IRMA STAT: We have developed technology that can send a scouting mission anywhere in space or time. We can use this ability to gather the critical data needed to solve the challenges ahead. Computer, initiate auto-transportation sequence.
The consoles around the room light up all at once. Electronic noises come from every direction.
COMPUTER: Sequence Initiated.
IRMA STAT: Okay everyone, here we go. I will handle the technology, but I am going to let you take the lead on navigation.
