Welcome to our future! These wonderful old vintage magazines are absolutely looking towards the future! This is what these authors and illustrators thought our transportation world might look thru Popular Mechanics, Modern Mechanix and others. Illustrators for these magazine covers were some of the finest around. Walter Dorwin Teaque, Arthur Radebaugh, Ray Pioch and Howard Jensen were but a few that showed us their future concepts.
The following images give us a peak into what others thought our future transportation modes might look like. There were, and still are, many science and mechanics-based magazines throughout the world, and they liked to give us their opinion of how we might all move around. Popular Science, Popular Mechanics, Modern Mechanix and many others fed us a consistent diet of Images of the future for many years. The idea of producing magazines that showed us possible futures was certainly not restricted to the USA. Around the world, interest was always keen as to future visions.
