PEG Engagements with Potential Off-takers
o Target exports to focus on Belgium, France and Germany where decarbonisation ambitions are driven by public emissions targets and green H2 strategies. o PEG have engaged with several the leading energy trading companies and found them much more advanced in their requirement for green ammonia
supply to their customers. Discussions are advancing with two leading energy traders, VITOL and Mercuria.
VITOL is a world leading energy and commodities company. They trade and distribute energy safely and responsibly around the world using their logistical expertise and infrastructure network. Founded in Rotterdam in 1966, today Vitol trades over seven million barrels of crude oil and products a day.
MERCURIA is a global energy and commodity group, founded in 2014, operating in over 50 countries with 1,200+ employees worldwide. Mercuria is now one of the largest privately owned businesses of its type in the world. Having begun with a focus on oil trading, their activities now encompass all key energy products and a wide range of dry bulk commodities.
Through our market sounding and engagement on Green Ammonia opportunities with over 25 fertilizer companies, it is very clear that they would require to supplement their own production with external purchases in the commodity market.
The vast majority of producers expressed great interest in Green Ammonia procurement and suggested contact 12 months before production. Our forecast production of 480,000 tons appeared small in comparison to stated demand.
Green Ammonia direct from manufacturing can be applied ‘stitched’, directly to farmland, and making use of the existing distribution networks in Europe.
We are in active discussions with the two-leading liquid/gas fertilizer distributors in UK and Ireland.
As part of market sounding and securing offtake agreements, we are actively engaging with Japanese and South Korea based enterprises.
These discussions are at advanced stages.
