OUR FACULTY (see addendum to letter outlining some individual
accomplishments of full and part time faculty)
We have 35 faculty members, including 12 professors and 9 tenured faculty. Additionally, we continue to
have an exceptionally productive part-time faculty contributing to our clinical and educational missions.
These part time faculty members conduct private practice sessions within our Department, often with
our residents. We thank Drs. Ivan Camacho, Mercedes Gonzalez, Carol Lattouf, Tim Wu, Laura Scott, and
Heather Woolery-Lloyd, for their outstanding contribution to patient care and teaching our residents.
Drs. Woolery-Lloyd and Scott are Director and Associate Director of Dr. Phillip Frost Department of
Dermatology’s Skin of Color Division. Furthermore, we also have among the largest voluntary faculty
in the country with over 140 members. These physicians (local, national and international) support our
department in many ways but most importantly through the education of our residents and students,
by the supervision of clinical care of our residents, by providing clinical and dermatopathology teaching
cases and by participating in teaching conferences. Many of our voluntary faculty continue to publish as
exemplified by UM Alumnus and Voluntary Faculty member Dr. Mario Sequeira. We welcome and need
your support! We always welcome new voluntary faculty to help our many missions.
