  Red Shift Count
The Red Shift Count is the number of shifts per month where the proportion of “risky carers” has exceeded the number of “safe carers”.
This is assessed monthly and forms part of CQE’s Monthly Report.
The report included here averages the number of “risky shifts” for each month over the last 3-monthly period.
It is notable that once the feedback on risky shifts is made available to care leaders, it doesn’t take long for them to reduce that source of risk to zero.
Care leaders have also remarked that the safer shifts prepare their carers’ mindsets for the culture change to follow.
