1. Turn on CNBC, Bloomberg, Fox News, or CNN to see what
is causing the big drop in the markets.
2. Go to your computer and bring up your portfolio on the
screen.
3. Start checking each of your investments to see which
might be most affected by the current market gyrations.
4. Decide what, if anything, you want to do about it.
5. If you decide not to make any moves, keep checking the
television or your computer or your radio throughout the
day to see what’s happening with the market hour by hour.
You can then go on with your day, wondering if you should be
doing something because the market is falling. As soon as you
get back home, you will go to your computer or turn on the TV to
see how the market volatility affected each of your investments.
You’ll go to bed, wondering if you should have done something
with your investments that day, or wondering if you should
have left them alone, or what will happen tomorrow.
