Chapter Five

Daniel came back from his High Ropes Adventure feeling

very excited. He signed to his Mummy in BSL to explain

what he had been doing. He was so excited, waving his hands

about, that he knocked her glasses flying onto the floor.

Niamh sat sadly in the corner. She was wearing her new,

fluffy pyjamas and was beginning to slowly and sadly put on

her rabbit slippers. She had been looking forward to the

party, but she knew that she couldn’t enjoy it while she was

missing Baby and Molly.

When it was time to go, Niamh put a brave smile on her face

and walked, holding Mummy’s hand, to the party hut.

They walked past lots of other children in their pyjamas and

dressing gowns. When they got through the door, there

were children drinking hot chocolate and a lady getting

ready to read a story.

Niamh sat down next to a nice looking girl.

“My name is Lily,” said the girl. “What is yours?”
