Chapter Four
The squirrel sprinted ahead and Molly and Baby had to run
as fast as they could to catch him up.
Eventually, just as Baby was beginning to run out of breath
and Molly’s legs were getting very tired, they arrived at the
play area.
There were lots of children playing on slides and swings.
They were shouting and laughing and having a lovely time.
“I don’t see Niamh.” said Baby.
“She’ll be here, don’t worry,” said Molly, but she didn’t
sound all that sure.
They stayed for hours, studying the faces of every little
girl they saw, waiting to find Niamh. But she never came.
The sun was beginning to sink in the sky and the last few
children were starting to gather their things together to go
back home.
